Half Tear

She did have big plans
And she was prepared to handle
She got chips and cans
And got home as fast as she could pedal

They all had been invited
They and their friends on her list
She was all excited
After all 'he' was on the list

She had decided the dress two days back
When they had decided it to be her place this time
She stood at the mirror with a small crack
"Wow! You look good tonight" said the mirror as the clock struck nine

 Now she could hear their voices,
They were at the door
'His' baritone was clear and distinct
She couldn't help but run down and see his Thor

The flight of steps seemed a million years
It was not gravity that pulled her down
But the desire to see him accelerated her steps
She touched her danglers the last time she'd open the door

There stood they and there stood He Like Gulliver admist the Lilliputs,
Like the white spot on 'the black beauty'
She stood still and looked at him,
His innocent face and those bleary eyes,That scent of his wanting her to dance to his whims

The strong arms leading to hands
And then she saw his hands
Holding a hand Her heart tanked
And she didn't hear someone saying 'Hi'
She closed her eyes to fight the turmoil
And half smiled with her eyes down
Let the feelings churn inside
With a half tear

Amnesiac

Don't remember the first cycle,
Don't remember the first butterfly I caught;
Don't remember the first picnic beside the stream,
Don't remember the first day of the school;
Don't remember the first trip in dad's new car,
Don't remember the first walk to the temple;
Don't remember the first dance in rain,
Don't remember the first poem I wrote;
Don't remember the last time I walked down the memory lane,
Don't remember the last train ride;
Don't remember the last trip to the club,
Don't remember the last book I read;
Don't remember the last match I watched,
Don't remember the last song I heard,
Don't remember the last time I saw you;
Don't remember the last life,
The memory has failed to live this long;
Surrendering to the clashes with the brain,
They talked and fought on what to store,
But the conclusion was not in sight;
The all powerful brain played the trick;
As the heavens have done before,
Cutoff the supply lines and make it die;
And here I end up being amnesiac.

Search

It's so difficult to describe,
this feeling inside;
But it's so real;
this thing I feel.

It has different names,
and it plays different games;
Sometimes it makes you numb and sometimes alive,
sometimes you stoop and sometimes jive.

With this bug inside what should I do?
should I show it inside or should I shoo?
The answers ain't that simple as the they seem,
I searched for them in prayers to requiem.

I turned to dictionary,
And even played pictionary;
Some words came close but none were wise,
I tried to understand them twice or thrice.

'Emotions', 'feelings' were that flew around,
with similar words it was abound;
I was sad that none fit my description,
even the 'mother of words' had no description.

So I am left to myself to figure it out,
wear a scientist's hat and become a 'word scout';
God give me strength to discover this thing,
so I can again laugh and sing.
